Sampler & Merchandiser - August 2015 (United Kingdom)

Salary: £15-18k basic - Requires own vehicle for job.

Vehicle running costs paid as extra.  All Travel Expenses and Phone provided.

 

Areas: London & National - Initial focus on London Sampling needed.

 

‘Taste of India’ is a well-established international food brand recently launched in the United Kingdom: exceptional Indian ready-to-eat meals, pour-over sauces and food service products.

 

It will be in partnership with a large national cash & carry chain which supplies the foodservice trade, including a large network of convenience stores.

 

Hours: 40 per week

Role Type: Permanent (after six months’ probation)

Salary: £16-18k basic + Vehicle use payment

Benefits: Travel expenses, Smart Phone

Head Office: Sittingbourne, Kent

Distributors: North London

Area of Responsibility: 60+ depots nationwide and 1000's of retailer outlets.

 

Role:

 

The successful candidate will:

a) Be required to work directly with our national distribution partners covering 60+ cash & carry depots nationwide.  His/her role will be to ensure that Taste of India products are actively promoted and marketed though our distribution channels to achieve premium sales performance.

 

b) Need to self-manage and setup daily trade sampling demonstrations within trade outlets. Focusing sampling on our Microwave Ready to Eat Meal pot product range.

c) Work as part of an international team providing support for local brand agents.

d) Travel around the country with hotel stays as required (Role may suit single person better)

 

Responsibilities:

 

a) Arrange and staff sampling events, ability to approach and sell to public

b) Point of sale material/branding supervision and checking.

c) Monitoring and reporting cash & carry sales.

f)  Daily social media reporting and updates to the UK Brand Manager.

g) Assisting with UK/European Trade Exhibitions/events.

h) Assisting with administrative & reporting in the UK office.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

a) Own reliable transport (Car or Van).

b) A background in convenience retail.

c) Excellent communication skills.

d) To be very commercially aware.

e) Experienced in sales/customer service.

f) Basic food preparation skills to prepare samples.

g)  Previous national travel experience.

h) Clean driving licence and own vehicle insurance.

i)  Basic computer and Facebook skills for reporting
